The Précis:

Fun, interesting, and laid-back folks in a 4 bedroom-2.5 bathroom house on the best street in the Mt. Pleasant neighborhood, looking for someone to join us.

The House:
Beautiful and spacious in a wooded area. The house is semi-detached (meaning the end of the row, so there are windows on three sides and therefore lots of light in all rooms). Caring and attentive landlord. Easy street parking.

The large common areas include:

- two large living rooms

- dining room, for group dinners;

- renovated kitchen with modern appliances;

- basement with washer, dryer, and storage

- shared use of backyard with patio and grill

Common areas are fully furnished!

Where:
On the best, most secluded (but accessible) and therefore most peaceful street in Mt.P, with direct access to Rock Creek Park for running, hiking, and bucolic peace. Or a quick run through the Zoo. Downtown is a 12-minute bike ride downhill on 16th street. Short walk to a variety of buses (42/43/H2/H4, and the 16th street S buses) and a 15 minute walk to the heart of Columbia Heights/Metro stop.

The Room:
Sunny and cozy with west facing sliding glass doors that open to your own lovely balcony, with an incredible view of Rock Creek Park and sunsets.

(Price includes utilities, except for lightning fast FiOS)

Us:
We are committed to creating and maintaining a comfortable, happy house. Two of us recently graduated from the MFA program at Yale and now work as art professors at universities in DC. Another graduated from an economics program in Phoenix and now works at the Federal Reserve. We are relaxed and organized; we enjoy life, cooking, music/dancing, movies, and art; and we hope our new housemate will equally appreciate the gift of our house and will proactively want to spend time creating and maintaining our home, including healthy and upfront communication that is grounded in care for each.

You:
We will be showing preference to female identifying or nonbinary people.
We are genuinely excited to welcome new people who will be active and rooted in the larger DC communities, and who share our priority of learning from each other and continuing our cultivation of one of DC’s best homes.
